Soma Information
Soma is a medication commonly prescribed for back pain. It is in the class of medications called muscle relaxers. The generic name for Soma is carisoprodol. One of the more common manufacturers of carisoprodol is Watson. Watson Brand Soma is available through most pharmacies, and is considered to be a non-controlled substance by the DEA. Some states, however, consider soma to be controlled, so check with your state regulatory agency regarding this issue. Carisoprodol, especially when combined with pain relief medications like Tramadol can be one of the most effective treatments for common back pain, and does not carry some of the side effects of medications like Celebrex and Bextra.
